Terms & Conditions

1. Introduction

These terms and conditions govern your engagement with Granite By Alex Ltd for the provision of granite, quartz and marble stone services. Granite By Alex Ltd is registered in England and Wales. All services are provided subject to these terms.

2. Quotations

All quotations are provided based on information available at the time of enquiry and may be subject to change following final measurements and site inspection. We will provide an updated quotation if any changes are identified during the site survey. Quotations are valid for 30 days from the date of issue unless stated otherwise.

3. Orders & Deposits

Orders are not confirmed until formally accepted by Granite By Alex. A deposit is required to secure your order and commence fabrication or planning. The deposit amount will be specified in your quotation and invoice. The balance is due according to the agreed payment terms before installation or collection. Payment terms are: 50% deposit to secure order, 50% balance due before installation.

4. Natural Stone Variations

Granite, marble and other natural stone products are naturally occurring materials. Colour, veining, texture and pattern variations are completely normal and are not considered defects. Each piece of natural stone is unique. Minor variations in tone and pattern add to the character and beauty of the material. Polished finishes may vary slightly in appearance. Surface finishes may include natural pits and fissures that are inherent to the stone.

5. Installation

Customers must ensure safe and reasonable access to the installation area. This includes access for our installers, vehicles and equipment. Granite By Alex reserves the right to delay or postpone installation where site conditions are unsuitable or where reasonable access cannot be safely achieved. The customer is responsible for ensuring that the supporting structure is adequate to support the weight of the stone. Any building works required prior to installation are the customer's responsibility.

6. Payments

Final balances must be paid according to the agreed quotation and invoice terms. Payment should be made via bank transfer unless otherwise agreed. Failure to pay on the due date may result in suspension of services and potential legal action to recover outstanding amounts.

7. Repairs & Maintenance

Customers are responsible for following care and maintenance guidance provided after installation. Stone surfaces require appropriate cleaning and sealing. We recommend professional cleaning and annual sealing for granite and marble surfaces. Damage resulting from failure to follow maintenance guidance is not covered by any warranty.

8. Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

• Granite By Alex shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential or special damages
• Our total liability is limited to the contract value
• Nothing in these terms affects your statutory consumer rights
• We maintain insurance to cover our professional indemnity

9. Cancellation Rights

Cancellation rights will be handled in accordance with applicable UK consumer protection laws. Once fabrication has commenced on bespoke pieces, cancellation may result in loss of deposit. For standard products not yet manufactured, cancellation may be accepted within 14 days with 50% restocking fee. Please contact us to discuss cancellation options.
